At Oliver Elementary we know that the partnership between parents and the school is very important to improve student learning. We are so fortunate to have so many great volunteers at our school. Taking part in or PTO and helping it get off the ground is a great way to get involved, but parents are also encouraged to volunteer and visit in classrooms as well. The guidelines around these visits are:
- Volunteer times and class visits must be scheduled with the student’s teacher (by phone or email) prior to the visit. Please be flexible and understand that teachers may need or want volunteers at certain times of the day.
- Volunteers are not permitted to work with students without supervision of a licensed staff member
- All volunteers and visitors must sign in at the office & wear a visitor badge
- Volunteers for field trips must fill out a background check form
Click here to download the background check form. There is a $5 dollar processing fee and it can take up to 2 weeks for the school to be informed of the results. Thank you!
